German kitchen brand Leicht has opened its first West Coast location in Vancouver, in conjunction with Vancouver-based retailer Germanhaus. The 1,550 square foot Leicht showroom is located at 529 Beatty Street in Vancouver’s ‘Crosstown’ district, across from busy Chambar and Dirty Apron restaurants.

Leicht was founded in Germany in 1928, and is now the best sold premium brand in Germany. The company uses materials ranging from wood to concrete, depending on client needs. Leicht has won a variety of awards, including the prestigious Plus X Award, RedDot Design Award, Interior Innovation Award and IF Product Design awards.

The Vancouver showroom features a 28-foot long display kitchen at its heart, as well as other Leicht-branded kitchen cabinetry as well as washroom vanities. Franchisee Germanhaus was founded by partners Maxim Gotsutsov and Dmitry Bogouslavski in August of 2015, in anticipation of being a dealer of Leicht Küchen AG. Mr. Gotsutsov comes from a luxury automobile background, while Mr. Bogouslavski has been involved extensively in construction. The pair brought kitchen design veteran Igor Selskiy into the mix for his expertise and ability to customize designs for discerning clients.

Leicht is already seeing exceptional sales, according to Mr. Gotsutsov, benefitting from Vancouver’s current residential real estate boom. Leicht is proving popular, given its exceptional German design and reasonable price-point when compared to many similar brands. Customizability is an added feature that is drawing consumers from the Lower Mainland and beyond.
