Cineplex to consider potential sale of company in Strategic Review, appoints new CEO

Entertainment and media giant Cineplex announced Wednesday it has initiated a review of strategic alternatives “to evaluate opportunities to enhance and maximize value for all shareholders” while also officially naming Bill Walker as its Chief Executive
Officer following the retirement of Ellis Jacob.

It said the company’s board will consider a number of strategic alternatives including the potential sale of the company.

It said Jacob will serve as Special Advisor to the Board through December 31, 2026, working closely with the Board, management team and
the Company’s advisors in connection with the review and assessment of strategic alternatives available to the company.

Cineplex has 169 movie theatres and location-based entertainment venues, including The Rec Room, Playdium, Cineplex Junxion.

Cineplex is a publicly traded Canadian company, listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange under CGX.
