Pursuit Attractions and Hospitality Inc. plans to renovate Jasper’s Lobstick Lodge, transforming the longtime mountain hotel with updated guestrooms, redesigned public spaces and new dining and après offerings as part of a phased reopening beginning in summer 2027.
The project, which will increase the property’s room count to 147 from 139, represents another investment by the company in Jasper’s hospitality sector following its transformation of the Forest Park Hotel.
Construction is scheduled to begin in fall 2026, with most guestrooms expected to be available for the peak summer 2027 season. The remaining guestrooms and the renovated pool are anticipated to open by summer 2028.
The company, which trades on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol PRSU, said the renovation will draw on Jasper’s alpine culture of the 1960s and ’70s while updating the property for contemporary visitors.

Renovation to cover guestrooms, lobby and dining spaces
The redevelopment will include renovations to the hotel’s guestrooms, lobby, café and lounge, with a design intended to reflect Jasper’s mountain heritage.
Plans call for updated accommodations featuring contemporary comforts, along with redesigned gathering areas intended to accommodate visitors returning from hiking, sightseeing and other activities in Jasper National Park.
The lounge will be reworked to provide an après-ski-inspired gathering space offering afternoon drinks and light food. The lobby café will continue to provide grab-and-go options for guests, while the property’s pool will also undergo renovations.

“Jasper is an important part of our business, and this transformation reflects our continued commitment to investing in Canada,” said Stuart Back, chief operating officer, Pursuit, Canada Operations.
“Lobstick has welcomed generations of visitors, and we want to make sure it continues to do so for decades to come. We’re taking a property people know well and creating an even better experience for guests, while keeping the character that makes it distinctly Jasper. Whether visitors are here to explore the national park, enjoy time with family or simply take in the mountain scenery, we want Lobstick to be a welcoming part of their Jasper experience.”

Phased reopening planned through 2028
The renovation will be completed in stages to allow the majority of the hotel’s guestrooms to return to service for the 2027 summer tourism season, with the remaining accommodations and pool scheduled to follow by summer 2028.
Pursuit said its other Jasper hotels will remain open throughout the Lobstick transformation, allowing the company to continue operating its other accommodations in the destination while construction proceeds.
Once completed, the property will have 147 guestrooms, an increase of eight rooms over its existing inventory.
The investment follows Pursuit’s transformation of the Forest Park Hotel and forms part of the company’s continued investment in its Jasper operations.
Pursuit Attractions and Hospitality operates attractions and hospitality properties in the United States, Canada, Iceland and Costa Rica. Its portfolio includes attractions, lodges, restaurants, retail and transportation services in tourism destinations.
The company has not disclosed the anticipated cost of the Lobstick renovation.
