Founded in Calgary, the quick‑service restaurant brand specializing in Japanese‑style cuisine is nearing 220 locations nationwide, with approximately 70 per cent of franchisees committed to multi‑unit ownership.
The move signals a shift toward more standardized, chef-led offerings designed to streamline ordering and ensure consistency across the brand’s more than 200 Canadian restaurants.
This new opening represents the brand's 12th location in British Columbia and serves as the first of several planned food court expansions across the province.
The strategic acquisition is intended to strengthen the combined company’s ability to serve retail, foodservice and industrial customers with expanded packaging formats and culinary innovation.
The company’s “core four” growth brands are Yolks, Rosie’s, Heal and iQ Food. New restaurant openings planned for this year will largely come from those concepts.
Operating revenue at limited-service eating places grew 7.7% to $44.9 billion in 2024, while operating revenue at full-service restaurants increased 1.4% to $44.2 billion.
